REO Maximize Quarry Outputs

REO Stone

The Challenge

REO felt that they were under loading trucks and as a result were not running at optimal capacity. They identified the need for an on-board scale to push forward. With economic challenges pushing everyone to become more efficient, Site Manager Roger Allen, felt this information was critical to optimize his site to remain competitive.

The Solution

The L-Series range of loader scales from Loadrite offer the ability to monitor and control weights around the quarry. This allows users to load trucks to maximum levels and as a result increase efficiency.

“It allows you to put the maximum load on every truck, we were not doing that before” Allen added, “We were under loading our 60 ton trucks by as much as 20 tons before we had the loader scales.”

It even helped outside of the pit, allowing them to maximize their crushing operations. Roger added “The system allows you to compare the loader scale in the pit to the belt scales to know your tonnage is right in your inventories.” This reporting has proven a reliable way to track rock, right from the pit.

The Results

Once the L-Series system was installed REO discovered that they were under loading their 60 ton trucks by as much as 20 tons. Allen commented that as well as the increase in basic efficiency as a result of the system being installed that they were able to:

  • Reduce excess loads

  • Increase Fuel efficiency

  • Reduce wear and tear on equipment

The Product

The L2180 Loader Scale

Regardless of the application, the challenge for site and fleet managers is the same: achieve maximum value from existing equipment by utilizing it in the most efficient manner. The L2180 provides an easy way to capture information on your loading process right where it takes place - on the loader.
